Description
Where vascular access is difficult, fluids and most drugs can be administered via this Interosseous Infusion Needle. This process is particularly useful in neonates and birds where blood vessels are very small. The most common site is the proximal femur via the trochanteric fossa. An IV catheter should be placed as soon as practical. Also used as a Small Bone Marrow Aspiration Needle in the Jamshidi Style.
